Samavesha 2016 has ended
The 2016 Samavesha Yoga Festival will be at the beautiful Mt. Madonna Center in Watsonville, CA. Join us from November 2 - 6 and return to your heart and study with renowned fellow teachers on the Anusara path.

Recognition of the sacred in the heart of all beings is the first of ASHY’s newly stated core values and the theme for this year’s festival. It speaks to the universality of the sacred and the power of attention to crystalize this truth within each of us. Samavesha means to dive into what one was never separated from in the first place - come to the California mountains to remember, reconnect, and realize the beauty of your own heart.

Gail Corvette, Certified Anusara® Yoga Teacher
Yoga has led Gail on an amazing journey from her head to her heart. She was first drawn to her teacher, Jackie Prete, in the mid-90s at Equinox Gym in New York City, for her precise alignment cues and embodiment of yoga philosophy into the class. Inspired by both her teacher and the influences yoga quickly had on her life, Gail soon began Anusara® Yoga teacher training with Jackie and Rudrani Farbman-Brown.

Gail’s self-inquiry practice that began with Jackie and Rudrani has deepened through meditation, yoga philosophy studies, and spiritual programs. Her practice has shown her that yoga's profound impact on her recovery from alcoholism (she has been sober since 1995) is a gift to share with others. As a result, she teaches twice weekly at a rehab center, has led a monthly practice for women in recovery in a private home, hosted a retreat and has taught at women's retreats and a State convention. She holds a certification for teaching this population through S.O.A.R.™ (Success Over Addiction and Relapse).

She has taught Anusara yoga since 2006—first at the World Yoga Center in New York and Yoga Limbs in Hong Kong before leaving her 25-year career in human resources consulting to move with her husband David to his hometown of Charleston, SC. Gail is a Certified Anusara® Yoga Teacher and holds the E-RYT 500® certification through the Yoga Alliance.

Gail also enjoys singing with the Charleston Symphony Chorus, volunteering and traveling. She and David share the home of two cats, Izzy and Zsu Zsu.
